This is the time of year we reflect on the joys and challenges of the past year while anticipating what the new year may hold. At Summit Wood, we look back with gratefulness to December 2009, when we produced the very first BIO BLOCK! At that time, BIO BLOCKS was a part-time venture, using the sawdust that was a bi-product of the millwork that we produced. Our business grew organically, and within 8 years we were happy to ship BIO BLOCKS to retail stores throughout the United States. Gary oversaw the manufacturing process while I took care of the bookkeeping and sales. We enjoyed working together to provide a quality firewood alternative to many homes. However, after 15 years, we decided to change our direction. This year, we stopped manufacturing BIO BLOCKS and have decided to sell our equipment and lease our buildings. BIO BLOCKS are still available in some retail stores until they sell through their inventory.
I would like to sincerely thank the retail stores who carried BIO BLOCKS. I will truly miss talking with the buyers and store managers. It was rewarding when I heard from the “end user” of BIO BLOCKS as well. Many customers would contact me to share their stories of how BIO BLOCKS improved their lives. I thank you for your kind words and for the trust that you put in our product for 15 years. It has been a blessing to connect with so many of you!
