Backyard Chiminea

Used with wood in our backyard Chiminea, but so much better than firewood, and so much cleaner and easier to store in the garage.

We found the Best way to have our little stove fire in our Tiny Home.

Wood stove burning in a tiny home.

We were looking for a clean and safe way to have a fire in our little stove in our new Tiny Home. This is our first winter using the Bio Blocks, and I am very pleased and impressed. My wife did all the research and was told by our builder that this is the way to go to have a clean burn. We love our Bio Blocks as they are easy to store in our Tiny Home and they easily fit into our stove….. Oh, No wood popping and clean up is the Best… Hardly any mess with very little ash. We have several acres of woods, if we want to cut wood all summer for the winter, but why have more of a mess and not really have that clean burn you really want for us and your guest .
Thank you Bio Blocks for a awesome product.

ONLY Burn BIO BLOCKS in Cook Stove

Blocks are clean enough to be stored inside by the cook stove.

We ONLY burn your Bio-Blocks in our cook stove which is the cleanest and longest lasting wood product available. There is one more good thing about the wood cook stove in the winter…it’s a magnet for our little Teacup Yorkie – Sadie. It’s her favorite spot when coming in from outside!

The wood box is from my close friends grandfathers gold mine in Montana.  It is a Lamson & Sessions dynamite box from the late 1800’s from Cleveland, Ohio and it works great for storing Bio-Blocks.

Word is spreading from me to others that Bio-Blocks are the way to go for heating ones’ home or cooking food on a wood cook stove.

Absolutely the Best Blocks!

I finally found your blocks at Ace Hardware in Waterford, Ct. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!  I built a small tee-pee and used a fire starter. They lit right up and burned perfectly. I only got 1 pack to see how it went. My friend is going over today to get 10 more packs for me. I’m so glad you helped me out. Thanks!

Been using Bio Blocks since 2017.

Happy with the packaging and ability to stock pile in my garage.

Always easy to clean out the stove versus my use of wood.

Prefers Smaller Size of BIO BLOCKS

I definitely prefer your smaller blocks in the 12 pack over some other brands that come 3 or 6 blocks to a pack. Yours are easier for my wife to load into the stove when I am not home.

LOVE THEM!

Started using Bio Blocks a couple years back, after burning wood for over 30 years. I find they burn hot, less creosote, less mess packing wood in house, easy to store, less ash. I heat entire large house using a hot water boiler, and they work great!

BIO BLOCKS burn hot and long in small wood stove

I stopped at the Zoar Market to purchase some Bio-Blocks last night. They performed wonderfully in my stove! They burn very hot but also quite long…a welcome trait for a small wood stove such as mine.

Should we ever adopt a wood-fired appliance in the kitchen at our restaurant, or in our beer garden, you’ll be my first call for fuel.

Impressed with Quality BIO BLOCK Products

BIO BLOCK 12 Pack

First and foremost, I apologize for not writing you folks earlier. I just wanted to express my gratitude for what your company does. I have used your products for 2 years, and am impressed. When this time in the year comes, I usually buy 2-3 packages of your Bio Blocks a week. In the future, I’d like to buy a pallet of them. Thank you again for producing quality products!!

Warmth in a tiny house

In a search for alternative fuel for my cubic mini stove, I found bio-blocks. They have been an amazing addition to my heating needs. The size of each block fits perfectly in my cubic mini stove. Each bio-block lasts for a few hours, unlike regular wood. During cold blasts, I would be stoking my stove constantly. Now I add a bio-block and I know that I have hours of heat without attention. I am able to run errands, attend meetings, or go for a walk without worrying how cold my tiny house will be when I return. Thank you for a great product!

I have used other blocks and have found that these bio blocks are the best. They are very tight. They don’t fall apart, and burn very nice. Much easier than wood.

BIO BLOCKS burn better than logs and pellets

I have been heating my house for years. First with logs (and Gas) which I found the people would steal out of my backyard for their campfires. Then I used pellets which I could keep in the garage and no one could steal. They worked pretty good but then I found out about bio logs. My brother-in-law was using them and told me how well they worked. While I was glad they were working for him, you never know until you try them how they will work for you. I have an airtight stove with the stainless steel chimney both of which are all fuel but I’m always careful about the heat I put up the chimney. I did a lot of calling and checking in. It sounded good so I bought myself five bundles for a test. I am extremely happy with how they work. BIO BLOCKS are better than logs because they have a consistent burn rate and better than pellets because they last longer. Thank you so very much for this product. My wife is happy because they are a lot less messy.

Great to heat off-grid cottage

We cut down our own firewood (trimming our trees) but never realized how quickly we would burn through it. Storing was a major issue and some of the wood got wet and rotted. We also don’t have a lot of interior space at our off-grid cottage. Bugs from firewood are a problem since we have termites here. I started researching alternative heating for our wood stove to see what was available. Cost wise we don’t have a lot of money. I looked at all of the big box stores, then Amazon. I found a BioBlock package for $28 shipped through Amazon. We realized it was not sustainable, simply not affordable. I scanned down the reviews and saw someone mentioned that Ace Hardware actually was selling the 12 blocks for $6.99. I immediately went onto their website and ordered 20 packages. I had started a fire earlier and dropped a few blocks onto some hot coals. Wow! They lit pretty quick, no major smoke, just pure heat! We are very impressed with the Bio Blocks and plan on ordering a pallet as soon as we can afford it (provided pricing stays at $6.99 a package). I have observed that they do burn for around 4 hours. Being in plastic they store really well. Stacked 4 packs high, we can store much more inside now. We can also place the packages in our attic, and other places that we would have never put regular firewood. PLEASE DON’T CHANGE PRICING, those of us that have been unemployed for several months can’t afford the price gouging that is going on.

In Love Again with my Wood Stove!

BIO BLOCKS burning in wood stove.

I hated my wood stove and the mess with wood and ashes. It’s been a rough relationship…I had to have firewood cut small or it wouldn’t fit, and would have to add a log every hour to keep it going. Bio Blocks are the answer to my prayers! Small but mighty, clean and green, ease of use and fast lighting! The few amount of ashes it produces, I can use in my garden. I’m in love with my wood stove again, and will have a cozy, EASY, warm fire going all winter! I will never use wood again.

Nice cozy fire without the fuss

We were so pleased with the steady burn and warmth that lasted for several hours in our fireplace. Great product for so many reasons; stacks easily, burns efficiently, provides sufficient warmth, cleaner/safer burn than cordwood… After emailing my question on how to get a proper burn, I received an immediate and most courteous response from Victoria. My experience with this company and product has been par excellence!

Best blocks to burn in a wood stove!

I am a six year user of Bio Blocks! If you like clean, warm heat from your wood stove you should be using Bio Blocks. Being 73 years of age, I used to enjoy chopping and carrying my own wood; Cherry, Oak, Ash, you name it. I chopped it, lugged it from the splitting pile to the outside stacking area, then to the indoor stacking area, and finally to the woodstove. In 2014 that all came to a halt when I developed sciatica in my right leg caused by a pinched nerve in my back due to chopping wood.

I thought I would miss doing “my thing”, chopping, stacking, carrying, stacking, etc.! Oh, how wrong I was! I bought my first pallet of Bio Blocks after doing some research on various artificial log makers. I liked that it was made by using natural compressed sawdust with no chemical binders or wax.

If you want to protect your back, enjoy great heat, have a clean flue pipe, with no strange bugs running around next to your woodstove, then Bio Blocks are for you!

Save your back, you will wish you did!

Burn Well in a Cook Stove

I’ve become very fond of BIO BLOCKS even though I have woods everywhere! They burn very well in a cook stove. You can regulate the heat so easily compared to a piece of wood. Easy to store. Very convenient. No bugs. I burn one pack per day in my Cold Springs Cabins in northern Maine.

Fantastic To Burn In A Small Stove On A Sailboat

BIO BLOCKS in tiny stove

We live on a small sailboat with a small wood fire. Soon we will be heading north and we have found your product to be absolutely fantastic! At the moment, we just get your logs from ACE hardware but as we move into more remote areas, we are wondering about being able to locate bio blocks. We are wondering if you have any online distributors? Hope you have a great day and keep up your great product!

BIO BLOCKS Response: It’s great to hear that you are enjoying burning BIO BLOCKS on your sailboat. I would recommend continuing to purchase them from Ace Hardware stores on your sailing route.  BIO BLOCKS can be ordered online at www.acehardware.com and picked up at any store. If you know what town you will be sailing to, possibly you could place your order online and just pick it up at the Ace store when you arrive.  It’s always an option to order on Ace’s website and have them ship BIO BLOCKS to you.

BIO BLOCK Products are also available at other retail locations. Go to our Where to Buy page to locate stores that stock BIO BLOCKS. https://bio-blocks.com/where-to-buy-bio-block-firewood/

Delighted With BIO BLOCKS In Tiny Wood Stove In RV

BIO BLOCKS burning in mini stove

I am delighted with your BIO BLOCKS! I recently installed a Cubic wood stove in a tiny RV and have tried various solid fuel products in the last few months. By far, BIO BLOCKS work best. They are easy to handle, the perfect size, clean, and chemical free. One block provides 2 plus hours of beautiful heat and they are the only product that doesn’t cover the stove’s glass door with soot, so watching those lovely flames is an added bonus. Thanks for a great product!

Amazing

Oh my! I have been burning traditional wood for some time. However during the current cold snap and rainy weather we ran out! I panicked because we heat with wood and have, not to great, electric baseboard for heat backup. We picked up some of these bio blocks and I am truly hooked. They are easy to use. Burn nice and hot. Even the kids can use them. When I say feed the fire it’s sure! No complaining. I will never go back to wood. What a mess. And no ash (well nothing compared to wood) ?!?! Boy what a surprise. I can’t wait to just buy a few pallets of this and be good all winter.

Follow the Instructions on Lighting BIO BLOCKS

Well I bought the Bio Blocks and the first time I tried to use them I did not have any luck, but once I followed the instructions “men fail to do this at first” I had great success! I will never go back to the fake logs or firewood again. Very warm and long lasting fire. As I have found using the Bio Blocks is cheaper than buying firewood. I had a nice cozy fire all evening for less than $4 dollars! Very happy I found this product as I am retired and every dollar counts. Thank you very much for this great product!

Likes size of BIO BLOCKS compared to large blocks.

The thing I like about your blocks is that I can easily feed my stove; compared to the larger blocks, these are easier to handle. BIO BLOCKS are small enough to be efficient. You can arrange them so there is a space between the blocks so they burn properly. It’s easier to control the heat output with smaller blocks than large blocks. They are easier to handle. The price is competitive. They burn very well. Last winter, when the weather got cold, we used nothing but BIO BLOCKS for two weeks – we didn’t even turn our furnace on. Larger blocks are too big to arrange for proper draft. BIO BLOCKS are easier for my wife to handle when I’m at work. Blocks are really a blessing in disguise, becomes I have allergies and am allergic to wood smoke. These blocks have no odor and burn very clean.

Prefers BIO BLOCKS over traditional firewood.

I have been burning blocks for a couple of years. They are a lot easier then wood to use. I have been burning wood this year because I had some Maple trees cut down and kept the wood. Burning BIO BLOCKS last year and wood this year has convinced me to go to blocks next year. Please keep up the good work.

Excited to use BIO BLOCKS and fire starters in wood stove.

I want to thank you for such a fine product. For the last two years, I have used the BIO BLOCKS in my wood stove and wood burner. They have performed flawlessly and compliment the split wood perfectly. Easy to store, no bark or bugs (which is my pet peeve with cutting wood) and store very nicely in our basement. The round hamburger starters have not failed to light the bricks yet (and have many other uses also).

I wanted you to know how excited I am to be using these products and share that with you. Thanks and compliments can be a rarity these days but they have no meaning or value until they are shared.

Hi there!! I have finally tried these blocks in my fireplace and I am so amazed! My husband and I had bought a “pellet basket” where you can burn wood pellets in a fireplace or wood stove, and they don’t produce anywhere near the heat these do. Not to mention these are way easier to get burning!!

Burning BIO BLOCKS in a fireplace.

One of the real benefits that I have come to appreciate about using BIO BLOCKS in my fireplace, at our cabin, is that they burn so very clean and hot without many sparks. Last winter I burned BIO BLOCKS in my fireplace insert for the first time. I was greatly impressed with the product. Economical to heat home with BIO BLOCKS

We have just been using BIO BLOCKS to heat our house this year. We didn’t even fill the fuel oil tank. (very expensive!)

Started about the first week in October till about now and have been very impressed for a number of reasons:

  • They burn very hot and last very long.
  • I fit them all on my wood rack in my garage. When using wood I would need to fill that rack almost weekly. A lot of hassle and mess. And for me that meant running to my parents where the wood was stored and hauling it back.
  • I just emptied out the ashes this past week for the first time and we have a fairly small fireplace. That is amazing considering I would have to empty 1-2 times a week with the wood we had been using.
  • The nicest thing that I have found is that it is pretty easy to have enough coals in the morning to easily start a fire. This is important when I need to go to work quickly and my wife needs to get the fire going or I don’t have a lot of time. Before this was a hassle, because it was harder to keep the wood burning through the night without waking up in the middle of it to put more in.

I am a satisfied user of the BIO BLOCKS. I was given a tour of the facility a year ago on an off production day. I had never heard of this product until that day. I am a firm believer in this product and HIGHLY recommend it.

More than Pleased

Some say that fences make good neighbors; well so do BIO BLOCKS! The homes in our neighborhood are close to each other and we all try to be considerate when burning outdoor fires. After trying many different artificial log products, I picked up a package of BIO BLOCKS at our neighborhood hardware store with the hope of replacing the expensive coffee grounds-based logs that I have settled on because of their low smoke burn. Wow! I was so surprised! BIO BLOCKS burned bright, were odorless and nearly smokeless. Plus, there are no artificial binders or chemicals in this environmentally-friendly product and they are a fraction of the cost of what I was using. I’ll never buy anything else for our chimnea!

A Great Winter Plan

This is my first winter using the Bio-Blocks, and I am very impressed. I use them when we travel in our Motor Home…they are clean and easy to carry in a plastic bag, they are accepted in any State with no concern for carrying unwanted infections. The small burner with 4-5 blocks works well for a campsite fire, as well as for cooking hamburgers and steaks. I also use them in my home fireplace. This winter we plan to supplement our fire at the “Smoke Pit”, a Maple Syrup cooking operation located near Millersburg. Overall…a great,, economical “green” way of using sawdust to produce heat… Very pleased.

High quality

Amazed at Heat Output of BIO BLOCKS!

Hi there!! I have finally tried these blocks in my fireplace and I am so amazed! My husband and I had bought a “pellet basket” where you can burn wood pellets in a fireplace or wood stove, and they don’t produce anywhere near the heat these do. Not to mention these are way easier to get burning!!

One ton of BIO BLOCKS (1 pallet)

Rocky’s ACE Hardware in Millis, MA store manager, Shirley, could not have been nicer. Great review, have used them before! These blocks have every feature a New Englander needs in firewood. Burns wicked hot. Dry. Low vapor. Long lasting for all night burn. Compact dry storage! One pallet is 1056 cakes. (blocks) Seems like a good value. And Shirley and her Ohio team helped me find a dealer ONE TOWN AWAY! They could not have been nicer. So happy with the product and the people.

BIO BLOCKS burn hot and clean!

Burning BIO BLOCKS in a fireplace.

One of the real benefits that I have come to appreciate about using BIO BLOCKS in my fireplace, at our cabin, is that they burn so very clean and hot without many sparks. Impressed how BIO BLOCKS burned in fireplace insert!

Last winter I burned BIO BLOCKS in my fireplace insert for the first time. I was greatly impressed with the product. Not only were they easy to stack in my garage, but they were very easy to start, gave very good heat, and also had a nice flame. It only took 2 of the 12 packs to last for a 24 hour period. I’ll certainly use them again this year!

BIO BLOCKS are awesome!

I am a satisfied user of the BIO BLOCKS. I was given a tour of the facility a year ago on an off production day. I had never heard of this product until that day. My previous warmth came from natural wood. The BIO BLOCKS are awesome. Great warmth and easy to handle. Little or no mess and minimal ash.
