The University at Buffalo, the State University of NY, has been awarded a grant to study combustion, characterization and optimization of outdoor wood burning hydronic heaters. They have chosen to use BIO BLOCKS as the fuel source in this study because of their consistent size, shape, density and even ouput of heat. Alternative fuels, such as BIO BLOCKS, are an environmentally friendly option, manufactured from 100% recycled hardwood waste, compacted together under high pressure. Biomass, which is a renewable resource, will lessen our dependence on foreign oil supply and the volatility of the market. Dr. Paul DesJardin, the Director of Undergraduate Aerospace Engineering Studies is leading this study.
