One ton of BIO BLOCKS = 1 1/2 cords of firewood. How many tons of BIO BLOCKS you will use depends on several factors:
1. Are you burning only BIO BLOCKS or mixing them with firewood? I cleaned ashes in my wood stove twice last year burning only BIO BLOCKS!
2. Is your stove efficient? How are you draft vents set?
3. How large of a house are you heating? Is it well insulated?
4. How cold will this winter be? (I’ll let you know in March!) If you have any BIO BLOCKS left after the heating season, they can always be used in your fire pit or chimnea. Since BIO BLOCKS are made of compressed, kiln dried wood waste they are great to take camping.
One ton of BIO BLOCKS is easy to store and takes up less space then 1 1/2 cords of firewood. Be sure to keep it dry!
